Lauren Galinsky Commission Guidelines
Thank you for your interest in commissioning a portrait! Please review the following guidelines surrounding the process and check “agree” before requesting a commission.
Invoices - The full cost of the project is due upfront before beginning the work unless otherwise agreed upon. This is to protect my investment in materials and time. The invoice(s) will be completed by the due date(s) specified. Unpaid or overdue invoices may result in suspension or termination of the project.
Shipping - I use USPS Ground as my shipping service. The client will be responsible for associated shipping expenses including shipping materials, postage, and insurance. You must indicate if you would like to request specific shipping add-ons such as faster delivery, signature requirements, etc.
Copyright - I reserve the common-law copyright to all works commissioned including all reproduction rights and the right to claim statutory copyright. You may reproduce no work without my prior written consent. You agree that you cannot sell, reproduce or alter the commissioned piece or claiming it as their own.
Reference Photo - I will suggest which photo will work best for the painting. Together we will mutually agree to the use of the main photo for the painting. Additional photos will be supplemented, if necessary.
Pricing & Payment Terms - Total cost will be based upon the size and complexity of the commission. Payment will be made via an approved payment card, or by any other payment method we agree upon.
Commission Details - All portraits will be painted using acrylic paint on a stretched cotton canvas. The background will be a solid color. Each painting is also varnished with a matte finish. At this time, I do not offer framing. These details can vary depending any specific requests that are agreed upon before beginning the painting.
